Overview: This booklet provides an excellent, easy to follow training in the creation and use of various climbing Knots. It covers the basic 12 knots used in most climbing situations and additional 9 alternate knots. I’m not generally a fan of Falcon Guides but this one is an exception. I found the guide easy to follow & well written. Each style of knot came with a clearly labeled diagram and instructions on how to create it and it’s uses and associated risks. In addition the book, 40 pages, provides safety & care information for ropes & equipment. This includes a diagram on how to tie the rope for hauling at the end of a climb. I would consider this a must have for any climber, but particularly for beginning and intermediate level climbers.
